Our coaches are passionate about rowing and sharing their experience. Each one brings a diverse set of skills and knowledge to our team.

Kevin Tuley - HEAD COACH

Kevin Tuley joined Lake Stevens Rowing Club (LSRC) in 2017 to better understand the sport his daughter was involved in, and quickly became hooked. A lifelong athlete, rowing reignited his competitive spirit and passion for teamwork. Within a year, Kevin began volunteering as a board member and launch driver, where he naturally transitioned into helping coach rowers.

His coaching is fueled by his experience in multiple sports and his desire to bring out the best in others. In 2020, he became an Assistant Coach and completed US Rowing Level 1 and 2 certifications. He stepped into the Head Coach role in 2023 following the retirement of longtime coach and LSRC founder Barb Cummins.

Kevin fosters an inclusive, competitive, and supportive environment. “Everyone who shows up is welcome. All I ask is that you give your crew 100%—whatever that looks like on any given day—and show grace to your teammates on the water and in the boathouse.” He aims to help rowers grow in skill, spirit, and connection, regardless of age.

Jim Aylesworth - LEarn to row and Erg ed coach

Throughout Jim's years of sports and various fitness clubs he has been a part of, the most significant lesson he learned is that you have to want to be there. With that simple mindset, you will be successful in that training. Jim has been rowing since 2012 and from day one he has implemented that mantra..."I want to row".

Jim leads our club with Erg Fitness nights during the winter as well as supporting our Erg Ed programs for students in the Snohomish Public School District.
