bob cummins

Bob Cummins had a long standing love for the sport of rowing. As a founding member of what has become Lake Stevens Rowing Club, he believed that each person’s rowing experience could have a profound positive impact on their life.

As a Freshman walk on for the University of Washington Husky Crew, he was introduced to and fell in love with the sport of rowing.

Upon retirement from his chiropractic practice, he became a master boat builder for Pocock Racing Shells. He also served on the National Governing body of USRowing as well as being a founding member of NW Rowing Council. He was a long time USRowing referee, a coach for both youth and adults, husband and father of three children.

Bob has been instrumental in leading many neighboring clubs. He joined forces with a small group of individuals to found Lake Stevens Rowing Club. The LSRC community supports athletes from recreational activity to competitive competition for youth and older.

Possibilities and innovation were at the forefront of Bob’s mind. He also recognized and continued to point out the importance of people, and that among individuals, team always comes first. He taught and exemplified respect and integrity in teamwork and place in community.

Although we will miss him, his spirit and wisdom will live on through us.

The family asks that any memorial contributions go to LSRC or a cancer foundation.
